The Arsenal
Plank & Core
Hold a straight line. Boring, load-bearing for everything else.
How to do it
- —Ribs down, glutes on, breathe normally — a plank you can't breathe in is a hold, not a brace.
- —Straight line from ear to heel.
- —Quality time beats long sloppy time.
Common mistakes
- —Hips sagging or piking up to make it easier.
- —Holding your breath the whole time.
- —Chasing a 5-minute plank instead of harder variations.
Scale it easier
Shorter holds, or from the knees.
Scale it harder
Add a weight plate, go single-arm, or move to hollow holds.
