Ottawa Marathon

Breaking four hours was the whole point of this one. I had not done it at 21, right after I stopped playing soccer, and that is roughly fifteen years of a number sitting there unbeaten. This was the year I was going to go and take it.

Then I hurt my foot and lost two months of the build, two months out. I went to the start line knowing I was underprepared, which is a strange thing to carry for 42 kilometres.

4:00:58. Fifty-eight seconds. I am aware of how that reads.

And honestly? It was so much fun. I would do it again tomorrow. The number is still sitting there unbeaten, which means I still get to go and get it.
