HYROX Vienna

My best friend Kevin had a work trip to Vienna, so I did the obvious thing and booked a three-day trip from Ottawa to go race HYROX Pro Doubles. More travelling than vacation — but it was so much fun, and I would do it again without thinking about it.

We got a couple of days together in the city. Walked most of it. Honest take: Vienna was not as interesting as I usually like a city to be, but it is genuinely beautiful to wander around, which covers a lot.

The venue was the best one we have raced in. The whole pre-race build-up in there was nuts — HYROX at that scale, in that building, is a different sport to the ones in smaller rooms.

1:20:37 in Pro Doubles. Still the fastest HYROX I have on the board.
