This was a training simulation, not a sanctioned HYROX race. The format was shortened, so the time is not comparable to an official finish and is left out of the fastest-HYROX number on the races page.
How it went
Not a real race, and I am not going to pretend it was: No Limits ran a HYROX simulation and my sister and I signed up for it. The runs were 800 m instead of a full kilometre and we skipped one of the laps, so the 54 minutes on the clock is not a HYROX time. It is a sim time.
With the asterisk fully stated: we killed it. My sister was excellent — of everyone I have raced any version of this with, the least convincing required to go hard early.
It also landed three weeks out from Toronto, right in the last block of that build, so it doubled as the sharpest session of the whole taper. Best kind of training: the kind you forget is training.
Mostly this one made me greedy. Ottawa gets a real HYROX and I get to do it with my family — I am very excited to see what 2027 brings.
